Hot temperatures around 5 degrees above normal caused the Moderate Heat Risk category to be reached in Tucson where temperatures topped out between 101 and 104 degrees. The Pima County Medical Examiner determined heat to be a contributing factor in the deaths of two individuals (one indoors with a nonfunctioning A/C unit and another outdoors). Both had complicating factors of drug toxicity.
