Hot high temperatures between 101 and 103, or 2 to 4 degrees above normal, occurred on August 16, causing the Moderate Heat Risk category to be reached. The Pima County Medical Examiner confirmed that heat was the primary cause of death for two elderly individuals found in their Tucson homes.
