Event narrative (NOAA)

Hot high temperatures between 105 and 107, or 5 to 7 degrees above normal, occurred on July 8 and 9, causing the Moderate Heat Risk category to be reached. The Pima County Medical Examiner confirmed that heat was the primary cause of death for one individual found outdoors in Tucson on the 9th. Heat was found to be a contributing factor for another individual found outdoors in Tucson on the 8th. Epilepsy was a complicating factor in that fatality.
