Event narrative (NOAA)

Hot temperatures 3 to 5 degrees above normal, around 105 degrees, were experienced across the Tohono O'odham Nation causing the Moderate Heat Risk category to be reached on September 11. The Pima County Medical Examiner confirmed that heat was the primary cause of death for one female found in the desert west of Vamori.
