Event narrative (NOAA)

Temperatures 5 degrees above normal, 95 to 100 degrees, occurred in the San Pedro River Valley of Cochise County causing the Moderate Heat Risk category to be reached on August 6. The Pima County Medical Examiner confirmed that heat was the primary cause of death for one male found near Palominas.
