Event narrative (NOAA)

Above normal temperatures occurred in southeast Cochise County on July 5th. High temperatures included 101 degrees at Tombstone and 103 at McNeal. The Pima County Medical Examiner confirmed that heat was the primary cause of death for one adult male 5 miles west of Douglas.
