Event narrative (NOAA)

Unseasonably hot and humid weather settled over Missouri during the Fourth of July holiday, July 4th and 5th. High temperatures were in the mid 90s both days with heat index values between 100 and 110. As a result, at least 50 people had to be treated for heat illnesses at Fair St. Louis, while approximately 20 people where taken to local hospitals for further treatment.
