Multiple reports were received of two inch diameter hail in the Meadow South subdivision and adjacent areas of southwest Lubbock between Frankford Avenue and Slide Road shortly before 15:40 CST. Damage to roofs, skylights, and vehicles was widespread in this section of the city. More than 1,200 homes and approximately 500 vehicles were damaged in the mentioned subdivisions, with an estimated $15 million in economic loss. ||Hail damage across the city of Lubbock is estimated to total $40 million and resulted in three injuries.
