Event narrative (NOAA)

At Trinity Park, just west of downtown Fort Worth, an outdoor festival, called Mayfest, was in progress. Over 10,000 people were caught in the open with little shelter by hail up to softball-size. One hundred nine people were treated for injuries at hospitals, four people were in critical condition. Many injuries occurred as parents covered their children with their bodies to protect them from the hail.
