Event narrative (NOAA)
Flooding of the Tennessee River resulted in one fatality. A 37-year-old female walked into a flooded area while she was trying to reach a friend on a towboat on the water. The victim was swept off a normally dry walkway leading to the towboat. Fields, woods, and a few access roads in river bottomlands were flooded.
