Event narrative (NOAA)

A raft carrying five young men down the Eagle River flipped when it hit a tall wave and a hole on the other side of the river near Eagle-Vail. As a result, all five passengers were thrown into the raging river. Four managed to scramble up the bank to safety while one was swept away and eventually passed away.
