Event narrative (NOAA)
Two people attempted to cross a low water bridge on County Road 2110 three miles west of Mount Vernon along the Spring River. One male was rescued in the river and the other male drowned. His body was later recovered. Heavy rainfall from the previous night led to elevated water levels on area streams.
