Event narrative (NOAA)
Thunderstorms producing heavy rain persisted over Havelock for several hours. Doppler radar estimated 3 to 5 inches occurred near Havelock. An elderly woman drove into a flooded loading dock and drowned when trying to get out of her vehicle.
