Event narrative (NOAA)

Reports started flooding in that many roads were flooded near the Interstate 30, Interstate 35E, and Interstate 45 interchanges. Vehicles were stranded, being pushed around by the flood waters, and high water rescues were required. Interstate 30 near Cesar Chavez Blvd was closed due to high water. Damage assessments after the event showed the extent of damage due to high water extended north across the city. This area took several hours to drain after the heavy rain ended. A total of up to 10 inches of rain was reported in this area.
