Event narrative (NOAA)
Heavy rain in northeast Albuquerque resulted in the city's arroyos filling quickly with fast-moving water. Albuquerque Fire and Rescue reported that two people were caught in the arroyo's flood water. One person was able to escape, but rescue efforts were not successful on the second individual. A woman's body was recovered the next day in the diversion channel.
