Event narrative (NOAA)

Thunderstorms produced heavy rain that led to flash flooding. A 58 year old male was swept away in Shoal Creek near 9th St. in downtown Austin. The deceased body was later recovered in Lady Bird Lake. An LCRA stream gauge on Shoal Creek at 12th St. reported less than 1000 CFS at the time of the incident. It is believed that the deceased was a transient.
