Event narrative (NOAA)

Nearly ten inches of rainfall fell in the city of Corsicana during the evening and overnight hours of May 10th and 11th. During the early morning hours, there were several high water rescues, in and near Corsicana. According to news reports, Interstate 45 became a parking lot, and people were trapped in their vehicles, both in high water and in lots and roadways across town. A 23 year old male lost his life as flood waters quickly swept his car down stream near the intersection of 35th street and 3rd Avenue in Corscicana.
