Event narrative (NOAA)
Several roads were flooded all across Hickman County with numerous road closures. A 6 year old boy drowned on East Beaverdam Road southwest of Centerville when his family tried to drive their vehicle through flood waters from Beaver Dam Creek that had covered the roadway. The vehicle stalled in the high water, with the boy being swept away. Rescue searches did not find the child's body until two days later, where it was discovered three-quarters of a mile downstream.
