Event narrative (NOAA)

State Road 46 and State Road 11 are closed due to flash flooding from heavy rainfall. The hospital in Columbus was evacuated and water entered the building due to the flooding of Haw Creek. Houses were flooded with residents stranded. Several bridges collapsed and were washed away.
