Event narrative (NOAA)

During the late afternoon of the second day of a multi-day heatwave, a 65 year old woman on the 3rd/top floor of an apartment building in the Village of Owego suffered a medical emergency due to the heat and passed away. The apartment had no air conditioning and had warmed to 105 degrees. Even emergency responses were hindered due to extreme heat conditions causing the providers to become fatigued at a faster-than-normal rate.
