Event narrative (NOAA)

Hot temperatures about 6 to 10 degrees above normal were experienced in the Tucson area, causing the Major Heat Risk category to be reached. Tucson had a high of 109 degrees on July 6. The Pima County Medical Examiner confirmed that heat was the primary factor in the death of two individuals and a contributing factor for seven other individuals.
