Event narrative (NOAA)

Well above normal and very hot temperatures occurred on August 5th with high temperatures of 110 degrees at Ajo, Picacho, and Organ Pipe National Monument, 108 at Sells, and 109 at Tucson International Airport (record high). The Pima County Medical Examiner confirmed that heat was the primary cause of death for one adult male and one unidentified male between Pisinemo and Sells on the Tohono O'odham Nation.
