Event narrative (NOAA)

Temperatures in Las Vegas reached Excessive Heat Warning levels on five days during the 12-day period, and were just below criteria for the remainder of the period. McCarran Airport had never before recorded a low of 90 degrees or higher in June; three such days occurred during this period.
