Event narrative (NOAA)
Dense fog was a major factor in an accident at the intersection of SR 39 and U.S. 30 near Hanna, Indiana. A semi pulled out onto U.S. 30 and was struck from behind by a vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle was killed instantly. Sheriff's deputies reported visibility was near zero at the time of the crash.
