Event narrative (NOAA)

Two deaths were reported by police. Bodies were found in a parked car in a residential neighborhood in South San Francisco just before 6 p.m. Friday. It appears they were burning charcoal or a similar substance for heat which likely filled the car with carbon monoxide, poisoning them. Temperatures dropped into the upper 30s F to low 40s F earlier that morning. The ground was wet from rain that had fallen the previous day.
