Event narrative (NOAA)

Two homeless people, a man and a woman, died during the early morning hours of January 4th due to hypothermia according to the Orleans Parish Coronors Office. The 48 year old woman was found dead around 0530 CST on a bench underneath the Crescent City Connection bridge. The 54 year old man was found dead a few hours later in the parking lot of an abandoned small shopping mall. Overnight lows in the area were in the upper 20s.
