Event narrative (NOAA)
Two climbers were caught in an avalanche on the south side of Quandary Peak. One man survived with only minor injuries while his friend was buried and killed. Quandry Peak is located at the south end of the Tenmile Range, the summit is about 6.5 miles SSW of Breckenridge.
