Event narrative (NOAA)
Avalanche on Snow Shoe Peak (20 miles southeast of Talkeetna) pushed a skier and a snowboarder over a cliff. Both fell 200 feet. The snowboarder was injured, treated and released from the hospital. The skier was killed. The skier was telemarking and was participating in a wilderness medicine course.
