Event narrative (NOAA)

Odman Schmalzried, 40, of Wasilla, and friends were snowmachining in the Chugach Mountains south of Eureka Lodge Saturday afternoon, when an avalanche buried him and his snow machine. His body and the snow machine were found Sunday.
